Preview: Claire & David’s Wedding Photography at Winters Barns

On Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing Claire & David's wedding with the majority of the day happening at Winters Barns in Canterbury. Both Claire and David got ready there in the morning, using the separate areas of the Salon and the Pump Room (so as to not see each other), before heading into the city centre for the marriage ceremony at St Thomas of Canterbury Catholic church. This was particularly lovely due to the relationship between Father John Diver and the school that Claire works at - I loved the part when Father Diver said, "And for the for the last time using this name, Ms Putnam, are we ready to proceed?" To which, with authority and enthusiasm, Claire, replied "We are".

After the ceremony, everyone returned to Winters Barns, with the guests travelling via a classic red London Routemaster bus, and the newlyweds in a beautiful Rolls Royce. They had drinks and canapes in the centre courtyard, and then the wedding breakfast in the barn. After the meal, there were speeches from Claire's very proud brother (Graham), David (the groom), and David's 3 best men - each with their own funny anecdotes and heartfelt good wishes for the happy couple.

They started the evening party off with a first dance to "All About You" by McFly with their beautiful daughter joining them on the dance floor after the song. As the light left the sky, I took the couple out for a few night portraits. After a few photos in my favourite area, I said I had an idea for a new photo for them, and checked whether they would like to do something out of the ordinary. They were very keen and the below is the result. I'm very pleased with how the idea turned out and thank Claire and David for putting their trust in me.

Congratulations once again to Claire and David, and I can't wait to share more photos from your beautiful wedding.
