Preview: Siobhan & Charlie’s Wedding Photography at Knowle Country House

It always amazes me that after 13 years of being a wedding photographer, there are still venues in Kent that I haven't worked at. Well, thanks to the gorgeous wedding of Siobhan & Charlie, I can now tick Knowle Country House off that list.

I joined Siobhan in the morning, where she was getting ready with her family at an Air BnB accommodation, just a short drive away from the wedding venue. I do love the flexibility that rented accommodation like this affords - no other hotel guests to worry about, a whole home to use, and Siobhan could even have the family dog with them there.

I then drove to Knowle Country House, where the outside ceremony was now set up and looking amazing, the guests were arriving, and I was able to get a few photos of Charlie & his groomsmen. The ceremony was conducted by the celebrant Alex, who gave a beautiful and personal service. I loved the stories about the couple, hearing about the events they had been through, and the tying the knot ceremony with each of the couple's nearest and dearest placing a ribbon over their hands for the knot. It really was lovely and I noticed quite a few guests were caught by emotion and dabbing tears at times. I also heard many of them afterwards say what an amazing ceremony it was.

Then it was time for confetti, drinks, canapes, and a few family photos before everyone moved inside for the wedding breakfast. Siobhan & Charlie had opted to have two of their speeches after the main (father of the bride and bride's sister), and the other two after the dessert (groom and best man). Instead of your usual "thanks for coming" and a few complimentary words about his wife, Charlie's speech was a mix of those things, but interspersed with roasting his wife and father. The degree of shocked laughter from guests was off the scale.  This was a hard act to follow, but the best man, Matt, had a few stories of his own to bring out about the groom.

I then whisked the couple out for a few portraits in the grounds before the last of the sun's light left us, and it was then time for a bouquet toss, cutting of the cake, and the first dance.

It really was an amazing wedding to be a part of. Thanks for having me Siobhan and Charlie, and congratulations once again!
