I had a great time photographing the wedding of Emma and Aidan at The BarnYard in Kent on Friday. It was an absolute scorcher of a day, but by a nice bit of luck, they had opted for a 4pm ceremony, missing the most extreme heat and relishing in the beautiful summer's evening.
Emma got ready on site, and they utilised the area around the Apple Barn for their whole day - an outside ceremony with speeches in the same area, cake cutting and first dance in the Apple Barn itself, and a super chilled BBQ wedding breakfast where the guests could grab something delicious to eat from the buffet and sit anywhere.
In order to fully enjoy their wedding day, they opted to have all the main wedding day responsibilities like ceremony, speeches, cake cutting, and first dance, in pretty quick succession, leaving them plenty of time to then relax and enjoy the evening fully with their guests. I've noticed more and more couples breaking away from traditions and doing what works for them, and totally recommend this to all couples.
With all of those bits taken care of, I took them into the orchards surrounding The BarnYard for a few relaxed portraits making the most of the fading light.
