Gemma & Chris's wedding at Winters Barns was one of those days where it was obvious they wanted to have fun. They were there to celebrate, enjoy themselves with all their favourite people and, when the evening arrived, have a proper party.
Gemma had a surprise waiting for Chris and his groomsmen before the ceremony, with her sons Danny & Billy presenting the guys with cigars. Needless to say, they went down rather well and made for a great moment before everyone headed over for the ceremony.
Gemma & Chris married outside at Winters Barns, with Gemma's dad walking her down the aisle. Afterwards, the newlyweds were given a blessing of bubbles from their guests before everyone enjoyed drinks, canapés and live music.
There was a running joke throughout the day involving Winters Barns' wedding coordinator, Sally. Whenever anyone in the bridal party needed to get her attention, rather than simply calling her name, they'd launch into a rendition of Mustang Sally. I'm not entirely sure how many times Sally heard the song over the course of the wedding, but it brought a smile to her face every time.
After the wedding breakfast came speeches from Gemma's dad, a few words from the maid of honour, Chris, and the best man, before everyone headed back outside to enjoy the summer evening.
By the evening, it was very clear that everyone was ready to party. Danny & Billy took on another important role by announcing the cake cutting before Gemma shared a dance with her dad. She and Chris then took to the floor for their first dance, with The Wedding Chaps as DJ helping to get the celebrations properly underway.
This was never going to be a wedding where everyone quietly disappeared home after dinner. Gemma & Chris had been ready to celebrate from the beginning, and by the time the dancefloor opened, their guests were more than happy to join them.
