Preview: Amy & Rob’s Wedding Photography at Nettlestead Place

On Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing Amy & Rob's wedding at Nettlestead Place. Amy got ready beforehand in the bridal suite upstairs, along with her mum and bridesmaids. This was particularly happy as one of her bridesmaids was a new mum having delivered her baby only 3 weeks ago, and another bridesmaid had travelled all the way from Australia to be there. I loved hearing the girls all refer back to shared experiences in the past, whether at school or nights out. There was also something of a first for me during this time: I photographed not one, but three wedding dresses. Amy's nan has unfortunately passed away the year before, so she and her mum thought it would be nice to photograph Amy's dress alongside her mum's and nan's. It was lovely seeing the different styles, and it made for a beautiful photo.

Despite the heavy rains on the two previous days, by some incredible luck, the forecast was wrong and their day was largely dry allowing for an outside ceremony in the Rose Garden. The sun even came out for her walking down the aisle.

Everyone then enjoyed drinks and canapes on the lawn with family photos in front of the main house of Nettlestead Place. They then moved to the marquee for the wedding breakfast, which was followed by speeches from the father of the bride, the groom, and best man. Being Rob's brother, the best man (Tom), had plenty of ammunition for his speech and didn't hold back with some of his jokes. I would love to hear Rob's responding speech when he is Tom's best man next year. I fear it could be brutal (and hilarious).

For their first dance and party beyond, they had live music from the band 'Syndicate' who definitely brought the energy.
