I'd been looking forward to Emma and Ben's wedding for some time now. I first met them when I photographed Karen and Karl's wedding last year, as Emma was a close friend of Karen, and Ben was Karl's best man. Having gotten on so well with Karen and Karl, I knew it was highly likely that I would get on well with their friends and I wasn't wrong.
I joined Emma at The Spa Hotel in Tunbridge Wells for the bridal preparation before we headed a short distance to St. Paul's Church in Rusthall. One thing that really stood out about the ceremony was the choir. In my occupation, I hear many choirs perform, but these really stood out as the best so far.
The weather had turned pretty cold this week, so people didn't hang around long before departing back to The Spa Hotel for drinks and canapes before the wedding breakfast. The weather may have kept everyone inside but it certainly didn't dampen the mood or chill the celebrations in anyway. As an experienced Spa Hotel Wedding Photographer, I know which locations to use for any weather, so with a bit of moving around, we set up to photograph the formals in the Orangery.
Of particular note were the speeches; the Groom delivered jokes in a deadpan fashion worthy of Jack Dee, and the best-man's sly and subtle references to embarrassing events from the Groom's past kept everyone laughing.
