On Friday I was at Winters Barns in Canterbury to photograph the wedding of Maria & Chris. Thankfully the incredible weather we've been having held out for them, & gorgeous sunshine blessed the day.
They both got ready (separately) on site and enjoyed a beautiful outside ceremony. The mothers of bride and groom led the bridal party, followed by Maria's 3 bridesmaids and flowergirl, and her father walked her down the aisle.
Following the ceremony, their guests showered them in confetti before drinks and canapes were served by Scott Anderson catering with some excellent backing music provided by saxophonist Dave Brazier.
There were speeches before the meal from Tony (father of the bride), Chris, and the best man Matthew. The best man took an interesting tact here and used to the speech to apologise for a few things in the past whilst at the same time mentioning some embarrassing and hilarious stories about the groom, and then apologising for mentioning those things. It went down very well.
Once their evening guests arrived they kicked off the evening celebrations with the cutting of the cake and then a first dance to Jack Johnson's "Better Together". I love a bit of Jack Johnson and can't say I've seen this song before for a first dance. Maria then had a dance with her dad to 'Never Grow Up' by Taylor Swift which was very sweet.
