Preview: Maddy & Mike’s Wedding Photography at Limekiln

Yesterday I was at Limekiln to photograph Maddy & Mike's wedding. This is a new venue, having only been built in 2024 and is situated next to a golf course, just a short distance away from Tunbridge Wells. Mike & Maddy had moved down from London to the area to enjoy the countryside, so it was easy to see what attracted them to the venue.

I started my coverage with a few shots of Mike and his groomsmen at the Club House in the golf course where they were enjoying a pre-ceremony pint. I then headed around to The Limekiln itself and to the apartment upstairs where Maddy and her 4 bridesmaids were getting ready. Maddy had a truly incredible dress with hand painted details on it.

The weather was looking a little unpredictable so Maddy and Mike had opted for an inside ceremony, which was a beautiful spacious and bright room at Limekiln with floor to ceiling windows at the end of the aisle. There was a stunning circle of flowers constructed by The Wild Garden Florist in front of the windows and more flowers decorating the signing table.

Maddy was walked down the aisle by her father and there were readings from her sister (Jess) and Mike's sister (Meg). After the ceremony the guests moved outside first to greet the newly weds with a confetti blessing and then everyone enjoyed drinks, canapes, and family pictures. There was background music from Thom Music on guitar and garden games for guests to enjoy.

Everyone then headed inside for the wedding breakfast by Kalm Kitchen, with speeches before and in between courses from Maddy's mum and dad, Mike and Maddy, and then the best man. I found it particularly amusing that the groom had left his speech unattended earlier in the day, and his and Maddy's sisters had seized the opportunity to read through the speech, making "improvements."

After the meal, there were cocktails served in the bar, and then Mike & Maddy cut the wedding cake - this was absolutely stunning and made by Maddy's sister. Instead of just a normal cake knife, Mike and Maddy used a sword from Mike's family - it was an epic sight.

Maddy then switched to a shorter dress more appropriate for dancing, and the happy couple started the party of with a prepared first dance to "Carry You Home" by Alex Warren. Their dance was full of energy & well executed, so when the opportunity arose for the guests to join them on the dancefloor, there was absolutely no hesitation.
