Preview: Hannah & Michael’s Wedding Photography at Wadhurst Castle

Well, it's not often that I've photographed 2 weddings for one couple, but hey, there has to be some benefits to the disruption of the last 2 years. Last year, I had the pleasure of photographing the wedding ceremony of Hannah & Michael at All Saints Church in Brenchley. Unfortunately, there were quite a few restrictions still in place at this time, so although they were able to get married, they were not able to have the full day they'd planned and the celebrations they wanted. Fast forward exactly one year, the day to properly celebrate arrived, & I got to work with this lovely couple a second time!

As they were already married, the ceremony this time was a Vow Renewal conducted by their good friend, Trent Craig. I recognised that I knew Trent the moment I saw him, but frustratingly just couldn't remember where from. Thankfully he did remember, and we had a good chat about working together on weddings at Kew Gardens (here and here). With their friend conducting the ceremony, it was very relaxed and took place in the beautiful walled garden at Wadhurst Castle. The celebrations then took place on the south lawn where the guests could enjoy drinks, canapes, and possibly the best view from a wedding venue in the south east.

Continuing the relaxed theme, their wedding breakfast was a sharing platter style BBQ with an impressive plate of meat placed on each table, and various side dishes to accompany. It was then time for the speeches - always a favourite time of the day for me. I did like how Hannah's father quipped that the gap between ceremonies and the meals at weddings always feels like a long time, & Hannah and Michael had taken this to the extreme; for their wedding he had to wait a whole year after the ceremony for the food to be served!

For their evening party, Hannah and Michael booked the band "On Demand" who played one of my all time favourite songs for the first dance, "Wish you were here" by Pink Floyd. They then went into "Hey Ya" and the dance floor was packed. Always a sign of a good band.

It was a real pleasure to see Hannah & Michael again and photograph the celebrations of their wedding. Wishing them both lots of happiness together.
