Preview: Gemma & Tom’s Wedding Photography at Penshurst Place

On Saturday, I had the pleasure of photographing Gemma & Tom's wedding at Penshurst Place. I first met them at a wedding fair at Penshurst back in 2019, and soon after they were in touch to discuss their plans of getting married in summer of 2020.  Of course, we all know what happened next in the world, and their wedding like so many other's was pushed back a year. Perhaps it was aided the extended build up, or what they had been through this last year, but Gemma & Tom looked like they had the best day of their lives and were completely smitten with each other. It truly was so sweet how often Tom exclaimed how beautiful his wife looked.

I started my coverage of their day at Gemma's parent's house where she, her family, and her bridesmaids got ready. Then it was a short drive to St Mary's church Leigh for their ceremony, and then onto Penshurst Place for the reception. Once everyone has arrived at Penshurst they enjoyed the stunning views of the castle and grounds from the south lawn with their drinks and canapes before moving into the Baron's Hall for their wedding breakfast - truly one of the most spectacular rooms I know of to enjoy such an occasion and as the Father of the Bride mentioned in his speech, at over 700 years old, you can't help but wonder of the people who have been in their before, the events discussed, and history made. And now it has witnessed the celebration of marriage of Gemma & Tom!

Here is one photo from my walk around the incredible grounds with the lovely couple. I could easily spend hours taking portraits here and is one of the many reasons why I love photographing weddings at Penshurst Place so much.

Congratulations to Gemma & Tom!
