On Friday I was back at my favourite venue, Wadhurst Castle, for the wedding of Emma & Richard. Emma got ready with the girls in the bridal suite and in true style, Richard arrived in a Porsche convertible. The Wadhurst Castle record of good weather remained unblemished with another beautifully sunny day. Some say that it never rains here. I can’t confirm or deny this, but it certainly seems to have enjoyed great weather whenever I have been here.
Their drinks reception had backing music supplied by The Grand Central Trio. There were various lawn games to keep their guests entertained - although most seemed content to wander & admire the gardens. And, there was also something a little bit different at this wedding - a water-colour artist who was painting portraits of couples throughout the day, as well as an extra special portrait of Emma & Richard - their ecstatic reactions upon seeing the portrait for the first time were priceless.
Emma & Richard chose the carriage barn for their wedding breakfast and speeches, with food catered by Touchays, and beautiful floral decoration of the barn and tables, by Dora Kovacs I particularly loved the foliage around the wooden beams.
After the meal, everyone adjourned to the castle for more drinks, dancing, and celebration. "The Toons” supplied the music and The Dawdling Duck was set up in the Winter Garden for the drinks. I loved the custom neon sign here with the bride and groom’s names - a very nice touch. In fact, all the styling throughout the day with this wedding was spot on. They clearly have impeccable taste.
For their preview, I have chosen one of the pictures from the evening portrait session when I took them for a relaxed walk around the grounds. Congratulations Emma & Richard, and thanks for having me as part of your day.
