Nicola & Daniel's wedding at Winters Barns was a wonderfully relaxed celebration, with live music, plenty of time spent outside and even a special appearance from their spaniel, Rolo.
The day began with Nicola getting ready at Winters Barns with her mum and four bridesmaids. Only her Maid of Honour had seen the wedding dress beforehand, so there was a lovely moment once Nicola was ready when the other bridesmaids finally got to see her in it for the first time.
Their ceremony took place outside in the beautiful September sunshine, with Nicola's dad walking her down the aisle and a reading from the best man's wife. There was also a slightly unusual coincidence during the ceremony. Both registrars were called Nicola, matching the bride, and with me being Nick, we suddenly realised there were four Nics involved in the ceremony! I'm not sure I've ever photographed a wedding with quite such a concentration of Nics before. After exchanging their vows, Nicola & Daniel celebrated with a kiss and dip beneath the ceremony arch before heading through a shower of confetti from their guests.
There was another arrival shortly afterwards when Rolo joined the celebrations. As anyone with a much-loved dog will understand, it wouldn't have felt quite right for Nicola & Daniel to have their wedding without him there, and naturally he had to join them for a few photographs too.
Guests spent the afternoon enjoying drinks and garden games outside, accompanied by live music from Happy Hour, who roamed amongst everyone performing throughout the drinks reception. It created exactly the sort of relaxed atmosphere Nicola & Daniel had wanted for their day.
After the wedding breakfast came speeches from Nicola's dad, Daniel and his best man, before we headed back outside to make the most of the last of the evening light for some relaxed portraits around Winters Barns.
The evening celebrations began with Nicola & Daniel cutting their cake before taking to the dancefloor for their first dance to It's All About You by McFly. Nicola then shared a dance with her dad before Happy Hour returned to get the party properly underway.
With one last sparkler photograph planned to finish the evening, it was a fitting end to a wedding that had been relaxed, fun and full of the people — and four-legged family members — Nicola & Daniel wanted around them.
