On Saturday, I photographed the wedding of Emily & Tom at Wadhurst Castle in Sussex. They both got ready at the venue in the morning, with Emily using the bridal suite and Tom in the cottage.
For their ceremony location, they chose the walled garden, using the side gate as their focal centre. This was the first time I've seen the ceremony set up like this, and I really liked it.
During their ceremony, their youngest child, Alfie, was determined to not let the ceremony proceedings get in a way of a nice cuddle with mum. He even told Emily to shush during her vows, making everyone smile. After this a plane then decided to do a low altitude pass, and then there was an unexpected rain shower. Throughout it all, Emily and Tom just smiled more and more, laughing at each thing. I think it made the ceremony even more memorable.
After the ceremony, they had drinks and canapes on the south lawn and there were a few garden games put out for guests. They had a massive version of 'Guess Who!' featuring photos of the main family members of the wedding, giant jenga, croquet, and the viking game 'Kubb.'
There were speeches from the father of the bride, the groom, and the best men, before an amazing meal from Amuse. Everyone then moved back to the castle for cake cutting, cocktails, more garden games, and later on, the first dance.
