Preview: Emma & Jordan’s Wedding Photography at Notley Abbey

On Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing Emma & Jordan’s wedding at the stunning Notley Abbey.

My coverage began with a few scenic shots around the grounds before heading upstairs to join Emma for bridal preparations. She was getting ready with her maid of honour Charley, bridesmaids Laura, Leanne, Katie, Mila and Maddie, along with her mum Kay and Jordan’s mum Veeda. Lorraine Newark from Bridal Hair Design was working her magic on hair, while Emma did her own make-up. I spent some time capturing the bridal details — dress, shoes, jewellery, perfume and flowers — before heading over to join Jordan and the guys getting ready.

It was soon time to return to Emma for getting into her dress with help from her mum, followed by some lovely reveal moments with her dad, the bridesmaids and Jordan’s mum. After a few quick portraits on the staircase, it was time to get married.

The ceremony itself took place in Abbots Hall at Notley Abbey. It was a beautiful setting for Emma & Jordan to exchange their vows, with floating candles lining either side of the aisle.

Afterwards, guests lined the lavender pathway outside for confetti, and Jordan’s shipmates gave the couple a sabre arch to start their walk through. We followed this with family photos on the grounds before I stole the couple away for some relaxed portraits, including a few with their dog Wilmott (who looked very smart).

Entertainment during the drinks reception was provided by the brilliant Dean Jorgensen, whose close-up magic had guests thoroughly entertained. The wedding breakfast began with speeches from Jordan, followed by Emma’s dad, before dinner was served. Later in the evening, the two best men, Matt and Joe, took to the microphone and had everyone laughing with their speeches.

As the evening drew in we stepped outside briefly for a few night portraits before returning inside for the cake cutting and Emma & Jordan’s first dance to Sweet Disposition by The Temper Trap. Once the dancefloor opened, guests quickly joined them to celebrate the night away.

It was such a wonderful day to be part of.
