On Friday, I had the pleasure of photographing Sarah & Daniel's wedding at Wadhurst Castle. They enjoyed their whole day at the castle, with Sarah getting ready upstairs in the morning, an outside ceremony in the walled garden, reception on the lawn, and wedding breakfast in the drawing room.
Sarah's father walked her down the aisle, and they had readings from both of their mothers, with Daniel's mum's lovely reading bringing herself and numerous guests to tears. When Daniel's brothers (who were also his best men), gave their speeches before the wedding breakfast, they also moved many to tears. They talked of fond memories growing up with Daniel, and much they missed him in Spain (with him living in England), but how happy they were for him and Sarah. The family bond here is clearly very strong.
When Sarah & Daniel first contacted me about their wedding back in December 2021, they told me about their love of dancing, and how they were particularly looking forward to their first dance. So, when we went out for their evening portraits and I suggested a little practice of their dance for the photos, they were very happy to oblige. I wasn't sure what to expect; not having seen their routine before, and with it being a grass surface to contend with, so was amazed when they went into the dramatic and well executed dip I've seen. What I love most though is the look between them - totally in love and in sync with each other. Beautiful.
After their first dance, (and continuing their love of dance) they had a little surprise planned for their guests. The dance instructor that taught Sarah, was there to give everyone a little dance lesson. Everyone loved getting involved and it started the evening off perfectly.
Congratulations Sarah & Daniel. It was a pleasure to be a part of your wedding.
