Lou & Tim chose The Mitre Hotel in Hampton Court, London for their wedding. They live just around the corner so know the area well, and what a beautiful area it is. It's true, we lucked out big time with the weather, but even if there wasn't perfect sunshine, I can see why they love it here so much.
I started my coverage of their day with Louise in the Henry VIII room where she was joined by her mum, sister, friends, and hairdresser, Michelle. Lou was very chilled throughout and an absolute pleasure to work with. She's photographed weddings herself, & completely understood whenever I asked for something.
Their ceremony took place in the Orangery downstairs, which was full of glorious natural light. Tim's niece did a surprise singing during the signing of the wedding register, and I heard many guests say how amazing she was (I completely agree).
The newlyweds then led their guests out onto the terrace by the river to enjoy champagne and canapes, as boats, kayaks, and wildfowl gently floated past. Lou & Tim took a little boat trip along the river before returning for a confetti blessing from their guests. After more drinks, canapes, and group photos, they took another trip on the boat, but this time along with a few friends and myself, where we were taken past Hampton Court Palace before returning. Everyone then moved inside for the wedding breakfast preceded by a few words by Tim.
As the sun approached the horizon, I took the bride and groom out for a few photos by the river, outside the hotel, and onto Hampton Court Way bridge. It was a perfect evening.
We then returned for cocktails on the terrace, & the cutting of the wedding cake. Tim then broke out a box of some extremely nice cigars, talking through the options before offering them to, or individually selecting them for guests based on their tastes.
They didn't have a traditional 'first dance', so as the music started, their friend ' Chloe' announced the start of the party, and Lou & Tim enthusiastically led everyone onto the dancefloor. It had been an amazing day, and I'm sure was an equally amazing night as well.
