On Saturday I was back at Winters Barns for the wedding of Charlotte & Chris. It’s always nice returning to this venue throughout the year and seeing how different it looks in each season. The Autumn colours were now out in full and looking amazing thanks to some unexpected sunshine for the day.
Charlotte & Chris both got ready at the venue (in the seperate rooms), and enjoyed an indoor ceremony in the main barn. They’d chosen a stunning floral arch and aisle seat decorations by “Floral Explosion” for the room, and I struggle to think of an occasion where it has looked better – keep an eye on my instagram feed in the future for photos of this as it truly looked amazing. Another star of the ceremony was their ring bearer “Alfie”, a beautiful (and surprisingly big) Golden Retriever, who was a very well behaved and cherished part of their wedding day.
They then enjoyed drinks and canapes in the courtyard, with the magician Michael Mcintyre entertaining the guests before moving back inside for the wedding breakfast. There were some great speeches from the father of the bride, the groom, best man, and mother of the groom. The father of the bride complimented the achievements of the bride and groom, and added a splash of embarrassing moments (and a certain educational book) from the bride’s past. The groom talked about how he and the bride first met, how “fit” he thought she was when he first saw her, and lucky he felt today. The best man spoke of some experiences with the groom which can not be repeated here, and the mother of the groom gave a beautiful loving speech to end that section. A rather unique aspect of the speeches was that during the groom’s speech, instead of just giving thanks, he presented awards to various guests in the way of alcoholic shots with guests providing a drum roll before each announced winner. It was a really nice was of showing extra thanks and everyone loved the entertainment of it.
I had a great time photographing Charlotte & Chris’ wedding and wish them lots of happiness together.
