Emily & Paul had a slight delay to their wedding, from March 2021 to March 2022 thanks to C19 restrictions still in place. It must have been very frustrating for them, but as things worked out, it meant they got to enjoy some of the best March weather that I can remember. It was incredibly beautiful and sunny the whole week leading up to their wedding at Chafford Park, and thankfully, that unseasonally good weather held on for their wedding day. Also, by having the wedding delayed a year, their guest list increased in number by a very special one - their beautiful daughter 'Lilly', who was good as gold the whole day.
They enjoyed a lovely blessing in the ceremony barn, that was conducted by a friend, and included some very uplifting modern Christian songs, with prayers & a reading by close friends. All of this was complemented by the glorious sun shining down through the roof lights.
The happy couple then led their guests outside to be enthusiastically congratulated, before being covered in confetti. Then it was time for a few group photos, drinks and canapes, & a few portraits around the extensive grounds, before heading in to the main barn for the wedding breakfast catered by 'Leave it to us.'
With the light of day fading, it was time for speeches, cake cutting, and soon after, the first dance. They made full use of the venue's own sound system, just plugging in an ipad, and playing the tunes they wanted. They obviously invited the right guests as most were on the dance floor from the moment the first dance ended and stayed there throughout.
Emily & Paul were keen on a night portrait so after setting up some lights how I wanted, I whisked them outside for a few shots around the main barn. I had an idea for something I wanted to try and they were only too happy to indulge me. They took direction like seasoned models and helped me produce the shot below which turned out even better than I imagined.
Congratulations Emily & Paul - what a beautiful wedding day!
