On Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing Catherine & George’s wedding, beginning in Sevenoaks before heading on to their reception at Chafford Park.
My coverage started at Catherine’s family home, where she was getting ready with her parents and three bridesmaids. It was a lovely, relaxed morning and I began by photographing the bridal details — dress, shoes, jewellery and perfume — before capturing some of the final preparations. Once ready, we had a really special ‘reveal’ with her parents, and then it was time to head to the church.
Once at St Luke’s Church, Sevenoaks, I photographed guests arriving and had time for a few portraits with George and the groomsmen. Shortly after, the bridesmaids arrived in style in Catherine’s brother’s Ferrari, followed by Catherine and her dad in a beautiful vintage Chevrolet.
The ceremony was a classic Church of England service led by Reverend Anne Bourne, with two readings and a choir singing. Catherine was preceded down the aisle by two very sweet flower girls, aged four and one, which made for a lovely start to the ceremony. After the service, we took a quick portrait inside the church before heading outside for confetti and congratulations.
From there, guests made their way over to Chafford Park for the reception, where drinks and canapés were served and I captured some family photos. Just before the wedding breakfast, I stole Catherine & George away for some relaxed portraits around the grounds before they joined their guests inside for the meal.
After the meal, there were speeches from Catherine’s dad, George, and the best man, bringing a great mix of humour and heartfelt moments.
As the evening approached, we stepped out for a few more portraits in the softer light before evening guests began to arrive, and everyone enjoyed cocktails in the whiskey lounge.
Catherine & George cut their cake before taking to the dancefloor for their first dance to Feels Like I’m Falling in Love by Coldplay. With a live band ready to go, it didn’t take long for the dancefloor to fill.
It was such a lovely day to be part of — relaxed, elegant, and full of great moments throughout.
