I had a great time photographing the wedding of Amy & Ben at Nettlestead Place. They clearly have great chemistry - they spent the majority of their wedding day either smiling at each other, joking together, or embracing. The moment we took them away for their portraits and stood them together, they were all giggles like besotted teenagers.
I started my day with photographing Amy & her bridesmaids getting ready in the morning in the room upstairs. With the whole day happening at Nettlestead, I could easily pop down stairs to photograph Ben's arrival with his best-man in a McLaren, and then return to the girls for more photos.
They enjoyed an outside ceremony in the Rose Garden before having their drinks reception on the lawn, and then moving the marquee for the wedding breakfast.
They had arranged a little surprise for after the meal - singing waiters. After the last dessert had been served, one of the waiters spectacularly fell over in front of the head-table. Myself and the videographer moved in to record the action (much to the horror of a couple of guests), but then the waiter 'recovered' from his injury in a blink of an eye, and immediately produced a microphone as he went into the first song. The speed of the change was brilliant and everyone loved it. They had the room on their feet, the groom singing along (Ben has a great voice!), and got everyone thoroughly in mood to party. It was a lot of fun to be a part of.
Congratulations Amy & Ben!
