Yesterday’s beautiful wedding between Julia and George saw a lot of firsts; it was the first of June, the first time I’d photographed a wedding at Long Furlong Barn, and the first time working with Jane Blackman (conducting the ceremony), Nells Flowers, Becky Howie (make-up), Amy Maughan (hair), & Melissa from Kidzplay providing a creche. It was nice to be working with Circa catering again who not only provided canapes and a wedding breakfast meal, but also a dessert buffet with gelato station, and later in the evening a pizza van (I highly recommend this and this was another first for me). The wedding was also an important first for the venue as this was their first using the new outside ceremony area, which with a backdrop of endless rolling fields was absolutely stunning.
Julia & George’s wedding day was slightly unorthodox and I absolutely loved it. They greeted their guests arriving together before the ceremony with Julia wearing one dress (not kept secret from George), and then she got changed into her main dress (a secret) for the ceremony. I thought it was so nice to be able to enjoy more of the day together like this, and made it a very relaxed day from the early on. I loved their ring bearer or ring “bear”, being their very cute son in a little bear outfit. The beautiful sunshine made him less than keen to wear the hat element though, so the best man donned it for the duty of bringing the rings to the couple which made everyone smile even more.
The whole day was amazing and I look forward to sharing more photos, but for now, here is a little preview. Congratulations Julia & George!
