Tiffany & Jack's beautiful wedding at Penshurst Place was full of laughter, personal touches and one particularly memorable confetti alternative.
The day began just around the corner at The Leicester Arms in Penshurst, where Tiffany got ready upstairs with her mum and bridesmaids, while Jack got ready elsewhere at the pub with his dad, brother and best man. Once ready, the bridal party were driven over to Penshurst Place in a few trips in a beautiful Rolls Royce Silver Cloud.
Their ceremony took place in the Sunderland Room, accompanied by a string quartet and three readings from family and friends, including a literary excerpt, a personal message celebrating Tiffany & Jack as a couple, and an Irish blessing.
Penshurst Place doesn't allow traditional confetti, so Tiffany & Jack had found a rather brilliant alternative — white paper streamers. They'd tested one beforehand and it looked great. What they hadn't tested was what would happen when around 100 guests fired them simultaneously!
As the newlyweds walked between their guests in the courtyard, the individual streamers rapidly became an enormous web of paper around them. Within seconds, Tiffany & Jack were almost completely engulfed and having to battle their way through. It perhaps wasn't quite the elegant streamer exit they'd envisaged, but they laughed throughout, their guests loved it, and I suspect it will be one of those moments everyone remembers from their wedding for years to come.
After escaping the streamers, everyone enjoyed drinks, canapés and garden games in the grounds before heading into the magnificent Baron's Hall for the wedding breakfast.
The speeches were spread throughout the meal, with Tiffany's dad speaking first, followed later by Tiffany & Jack themselves. Best man Toby finished things off with something a little different — telling the story of Jack through an absolutely hilarious poem. Brilliantly written and delivered, it had the room in stitches.
To start the evening celebrations, Tiffany & Jack cut their wedding cake before hitting the dancefloor, with Mint DJs setting the party vibe.
