I had the pleasure of meeting Nicky earlier in the year at the Chafford Park Wedding Showcase and was so pleased to still have her wedding date available. The following months absolutely flew by, and the August bank holiday weekend was suddenly here. Unfortunately the weather was less than ideal on that afternoon with some pretty heavy rain showers, but I was pleased to see it brightened up nicely in the later afternoon.
Nicky & Chris booked me for a short cover of their day, where I photographed the ceremony at St. Paul's Church in Tunbridge Wells, captured the family / group photos, and then a few portraits of the happy couple before they left for the party with their nearest and dearest.
After the ceremony Nicky & Chris enjoyed champagne with their guests outside the church grounds, and when it was nearly time to leave, I noticed one of the bottles was pretty much full. Now, the rain by itself always looks great with some off camera flash to highlight the drops, but I suggested taking things to the next level and using the champagne. Nicky & Chris were happy to oblige and despite a stray bit of spray going in Chris's face, I think they nailed it and looked amazing.
Congratulations Nicky & Chris - I was very glad to be a part of your day!
