Preview: Mel & Will’s Wedding Photography at Penshurst Place

On the morning of her wedding to Will, Mel got ready at her dad's house in Maidstone. The house was pretty full as she was joined by her 5 bridesmaids, the mother of the groom, her father, and other friends and family. From there, it was a short drive to St Mary's & All Saints church in Boxley - albeit a little hampered by a road closure but nothing we weren't prepared for. Mel's parents were married at this church so it was extra special for her on this day.

The ceremony was conducted by Rev. Rob Tugwell and Mel's brother Chris did a reading. After the ceremony, everyone headed outside to give the newly weds a confetti blessing and not even the heavy rain and strong winds could sway the smiles from their faces.

We then all drove over to Penshurst Place & Gardens for the wedding reception. Mother nature decided to place another hurdle in our way (this time a tree across the road) causing another road closure but once again the delays were fairly minimal.

At Penshurst Place the rain was still coming down so the guests enjoyed drinks upstairs while I photographed a few group photos (with them undercover) and then took Mel & Will for a few portraits around the grounds as the rain eased off.

They had speeches from Mel's dad (Nick), Will, & the two best men. Both Nick and Will's speeches caused a few tears from the guests with their beautifully emotional words and then the best men turned the room to laughter (usually at the groom's expense).

Once their evening guests arrived, Mel & Will started the party off with their first dance to "Starlight" by Westlife with The Wedding Chaps as their DJ. They were then joined by their guests, formed a circle and danced around the dancefloor. Mel then danced with her father drawing more tears all around, before we went outside for sparklers and a few night portraits with Chris and his fiance Emma assisting.
