I've photographed many weddings at Penshurst Place over the years but this was the first time I have had the pleasure of photographing a courtyard ceremony there. I love this venue, and really enjoyed hearing the amazed comments of guests as they entered through the large wooden doors and saw the stunning surroundings inside. Many of the guests had flown in from other countries and I think they really appreciated the uniqueness of Penshurst Place.
After Aurélie & Peter's beautiful ceremony, everyone moved to lawn overlooking the rose garden for drinks, canapes, more music by the string quartet, and then the delight of two ladies singing various French songs. The smiles and dancing of guests showed how much they loved this addition to the wedding.
Then it was time for me to take the newly weds on a swift tour of the extensive grounds for a few portraits before the wedding breakfast in the Baron's Hall. There were speeches by the Groom and Best Man after the meal, and then once the dance floor was cleared, Aurélie & Peter did a beautifully choreographed first dance. However, in terms of dancing, there was someone else that really stole the show; Aurélie & Peter's son, Charlie. He had all the moves, and more energy than anyone else there. What a little legend.
Congratulations Aurélie & Peter!
