On Saturday I photographed the beautiful wedding of Alessandra & Jack at The Beacon in Tunbridge Wells. Alessandra got ready at the venue with her 6 bridesmaids & mum, and Jack arrived with his best man at 5 groomsmen to greet their guests before the ceremony.
They had an outside ceremony in the amphitheatre with some incredible floral decoration from the mother of the best man and backing music provided by the string trio 'Petford Ensemble.' Alessandra was walked down the aisle by her father Leo, and there were readings from Alessandra's cousin (who read a poem he had written for the couple), and from Jack's mum.
Everyone then moved to the lawn up one level to bless the couple with confetti and then enjoy drinks and canapes. The star of the show here was the custom Aperol bike bar made by Alessandra's father, Leo. It really was striking and I hear a rumour that the venue were interested in buying it - I don't blame them.
After the guests moved to the Grand Pavilion, Alessandra and Jack seized the opportunity to read to each other the personal vows they had both written. These were beautifully written, emotional to read for them, and an honour for myself and Neil, the videographer from NDR Films to witness.
There were speeches before the meal from Leo (father of the bride) who touched on his Italian heritage, welcomed Jack to the family, and mentioned there may come a time when he will be asked to do something for the family 😉 Then, there were speeches from Jack and his best man Felix with Alessandra saying a few words before the dessert and getting all the guests to enjoy a shot of Limoncello.
In the evening, everyone moved back up the hill to the main building for the evening party. Alessandra and Jack cut the wedding cake, did their first dance to "Can't Take My Eyes Off You", and then the party really took off. I don't think I've ever seen a dance floor so buzzing so quickly in a long time. It seemed Jack, Alessandra, and their guests had clearly been waiting for this moment, and with Mint DJs providing music plus live sax, there was nothing stopping them.
