I love doing my end-of-year round up; it’s an absolute pleasure looking back through all the weddings I have photographed. Pictures spark memories and a smile spreads from ear-to-ear. I remember: the laughs, the tears, the sunshine, and the rain; the nerves, the joy, the celebrations, the dancing and the drinks, and I love it all. Like how a song you loved when you were 16 makes you feel that way again, a picture takes me back in time to that moment I captured it.
Now, I’ve always loved photography, but wedding photography is so much more. It’s fast paced and stressful at times, but what a joy it is. To be a part of so many couple’s big days, capturing moments, and creating portraits for them. It also means that I get to work at some truly beautiful venues and with amazingly creative and talented couples.
I’ve been back to photograph lots of weddings at some of my favourite venues again like Winters Barns, Hendall Manor Barns, The George in Rye, Chafford Park, Gravetye Manor, Leeds Castle & Penshurst Place, but have also worked at lots of venues for the first time such as Northbrook Park (straight into my top list of venues), Blackstock Country Estate, Easthampstead Park, Upwaltham Barns, The Observatory Science Centre, and Lullingstone Castle (this venue is next level amazing).
Once again, it’s been a very hard task narrowing down which photos to include in this post, but I felt it was important for it not be too long. It’s still over 150 images, but I really couldn’t leave any of these out. And considering the first short-list was over 500 images, I think I did well to get it to this number.
I hope you enjoy looking through them all and I can’t wait to photograph all the weddings of 2018!
