On Sunday I had the immense pleasure of photographing Sophie & Guy's wedding at Winters Barns. It was my first wedding since February, and is one of a select very few that wasn't postponed or canceled. It felt so good to be working again - to be able to do the job that I love, to photograph couples expressing their love for one another; & to be a part of such a wonderful & beautiful day.
Sophie & Guy were amazing & I am so thankful that their wedding went ahead. I have a beautiful selection of images to choose from for this preview, but when I was going through the images this one stood out. It's a candid photo of them after signing the wedding register. I imagine a lot of couples have a "we did it" moment after the ceremony, but I suspect the feeling felt here stronger than most. This whole year has made it extremely difficult for couples planning their weddings. The goalposts have constantly changed and I don't think anyone could ever feel certain their wedding would go ahead. As Sophie & Guy smile at each other here, I love the victorious affirmation of Sophie's raised hand, showing the wedding ring firmly in place.
I cannot wait to see them both again in 2022 when the full party takes place. That is going to be epic!
