This Saturday I was photographing the wedding of Dan & Sarah in Putney, South West London. My day started with a few scenic and detail shots at the reception venue, The London Rowing Club, before meeting the boys at a local pub, ‘The Bricklayers Arms‘, for a few relaxed portraits of the groom, his best man, and his groomsmen.
We then had just a short walk to St. Mary’s Church, Putney, for the ceremony. What a beautiful church; it features a wonderful mix of historic architecture with subtle contemporary fixtures, and plenty of natural light coming through large windows. The balcony area also provides wonderful elevated views of the whole downstairs area – all great ingredients for wedding photography.
After the service, I took a slow walk along the river with the bride and groom for a few portraits before they joined their guests at The London Rowing Club for canapes, drinks, and their formal group photographs.
After the wedding breakfast and speeches, we had a bit of time while the room was being transformed for the evening disco, and with the setting sun providing some beautiful light, I took the bride and groom off for a few more portraits.
The bride and groom performed a lovely first dance to loud applause, and I captured a few shots of guests enjoying themselves before bidding them congratulations and a good evening. All the best to Dan & Sarah.
