Yesterday, I had to be in two places at once – covering a wedding at The Hotel Du Vin, and exhibiting at The Mercure Pembury Wedding Fayre. Luckily my wife stepped in and covered the fayre for me (thanks honey), and after setting up the stand, I could pop across to the other side of Tunbridge Wells to cover the wedding.
The wedding at The Hotel Du Vin, was between Carolyn and Ben, and it was the first I’ve covered at this venue. Amazing considering it’s only 5 minutes from where I’m based, but with so many venues around this region, life can be funny like that. Being such a local venue though, I know it well (I have meetings there weekly, have enjoyed dinner there many times, and had my stag do in the Havana room), but I was very impressed with how they transformed the main room for both the ceremony and the wedding breakfast. The Speyside Glenlivet room looked amazing on both instances.
I’d previously photographed Ben and Carolyn for their engagement portrait session and was looking forward to their wedding as a result. The portrait session had been full of laughter and there was obvious amazing chemistry between them. Their wedding day didn’t disappoint.
I was struck by how friendly their families and guests were, which made the wedding a pleasure to photograph from start to finish. I look forward to catching up with Ben and Carolyn again soon and wish them lots of happiness together.
