I love being a wedding photographer. For all the reasons you’d assume such as an innate love of photography, being an old romantic, seeing two people that love each other announce and celebrate that love, and basically being a part of the most important day in the life of many couples. In addition to that though, I don’t mind telling you that the food is also a major love of mine. You see, I am a massive food lover. I’ll try almost anything (including ox brain in Nepal and grilled sea snake in Laos), and generally love cuisines from all over the world. As weddings have changed, and we see more worldly influences in every aspect of wedding days, I’ve been witness to ever more varied and delicious food being served at weddings. I’ve photographed over 200 weddings now and have been lucky enough to enjoy the food at over 200 weddings. This has given me an unique perspective on the variety & quality of food being provided.
Which brings me to this blog post. I’ve been lucky enough to have photographed a few weddings now where Purple Pumpkin was providing the catering and can honestly say their service is unparalleled. The food is insanely tasty, but it’s also incredibly well presented. I see plate after plate leaving the kitchen and each dish is immaculately put together. It’s like they have a clone machine in the back somewhere and aren’t actually putting them altogether manually. And if that’s not enough, I’ve always found their staff polite, considerate, and extremely accommodating.
On top of all that, they’ll also help you plan your whole day, including organising the marque, the decor, the sound system, and fireworks. So, if you’re planning your wedding at the moment and are looking into catering options, I recommend giving the team at Purple Pumpkin a call. You, your guests, and your photographer will be very pleased with the results.
Here is a selection of images taken of their amazing food from over the years. Some photos are from weddings, some from events, and some taken specifically for their website. I’ve been lucky enough to sample most of it, and I can say without any hesitation that it’s all been heavenly.
